Alice W. Reins was a high school librarian living in Baltimore, MD in the early 1900s. Miss Reins began working on a bibliography of the Birney Anti-Slavery Collection for the Department of History, The Johns Hopkins University. Miss Reins was unable to finish the work, and it was not until 1985 that a printed bibliography was produced. Martin John Vincent (1827-194), historian and political scientist, Professor of European history at Johns Hopkins University. He specialized in Swiss government and laws, and was author of numerous books on the subject, including State and Federal Government in Switzerland (1891).
